Nephew flying to Australia tomorrow to travel and work casually. Belatedly finding insurance for this is more complex than he was expecting 🙄 Has anyone got any recommendations?

Thanks!

Look up Go Walkabout, they specialise in travel insurance for backpackers and gap year workers.
World Nomads is another option.

Can't recommend any particular companies but he needs to read the T&Cs carefully.

Many policies have restrictions on the type of work covered eg he would be covered for working in a bar but not as a labourer on a building site.

Policies usually need to be in place before the policyholder leaves the country so its not something he can arrange when he gets round to it when he gets there.

The policy might also require him to have a GHIC.

Thanks. He bought a policy overnight.

That's really good advice, @Bjorkdidit - I'll check those with him. Thank you.

Try to check if ambulance is included and if not , add it.
Ambulance is not free in Australia in most states and is around 1000-1500 depending on circumstances, even for Australians.
