Iceland in Easter...good idea?

We are thinking of going to Iceland for 5 nights over the Easter school holidays. We'd like to get a camper van and travel around.

  1. Is this a bad idea (the camper van?) for that period?
  2. Regardless of whether we do that, what are the key places we should visit/stop at? Recommendations pls!

Thanks

I have recently been to Iceland and it was wonderful. I saw a lot of camper vans around and they seemed like a great idea to me. We drove around the south coast and stayed in a different hotel every night and I would have preferred not to have to unpack and repack so much. The camper van websites have lists of campsites that are open year-round.

We drove round the south coast via Geysir, Vik and Jokulsarlon. Jokulsarlon and the glacier lagoon were amazing and I'd definitely recommend trying to get there. There are lovely hiking areas nearby as well. To get there on a five night trip you will be doing a lot of driving but there is a lot of lovely scenery and you will stop along the way to visit scenic spots (mainly waterfalls).
