Group of friends heading over. Planning lots of walks, KGB prison but not sure what else to do when the weather might be a bit bleak. Any reccomendations?

Motor Museum, Jurmala (by train) , Lido centre (huge place with delicious food), Central Market, Agenskalna Market, Skyline bar, Sapni un kokteili, Burzma, Andaluzijas suns, Mezaparks. - hope the weather stays good. It can be bleak due to grass dead and trees bare. That’s just the climate :)
enjoy the food and drinks !

There’s a great contemporary art scene in Riga, a few good galleries.

We had a great time in Riga in January! We had one bright sunny day but the rest of the time is was overcast.

The old town of Riga is lovely we did a “free tour” and the guide was excellent. We also did the “alternative Riga Tour” - which took us to the “Moscow district” (renamed now), the Market (see below) and other places outside the old town area. Different guide but also very good.

The House of the Blackheads is an interesting rebuilt building and a key landmark in Riga's history.

The central Market (housed in former World War I airship hangars, has some interesting things (as well as lots and lots of rubbish). We did some food tasting here.

We also did a trip to the KGB building which although bleak was interesting.

Lots of good restaurants in Riga (best ones outside the old town area).

I am sure you will have a great time.
