All a bit last minute really but looking for to suggestions for a Christmas holiday break - criteria is a bit wishy washy but money not that much of an issue (though not mega buck suggestions please).

Basically… 5 adults (includes adult DC, their partner, my DH and my DM).

Aged from 25 to 83 - all fairly mobile and fine health wise.

Prefer travel to be less than eight hours and from North West.

Enjoy beaches, swimming, walking, sunshine (but not roasting), able to swim in the sea, culture and attractions would be great too. Enjoy art, museums and “people watching”.

Would prefer to go Christmas week (or fortnight) and not fussed about “celebrating” the festive season.

Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Thanks

Sea swimming and the travel time limit are not really compatible, which would you compromise on?!

Thinking about it, heat + sea swimming+ culture / museums is even harder in the travel time!
Could you fly to Barbados (closest Caribbean island) and pick up a cruise there? Works well for multi generational holidays and you would get to explore a new island every day at least.

Thanks @Chewbecca I think I’d compromise on sea swimming (I’m the only one who likes it!) A cruise would be a first for all of us so I don’t think this would be the time to try it.

Mexico ...Tulum as some very interesting archaeological ruins and history. It's a tricky brief for flight distance of 8 hours/sun/museum
