Has anyone been? We have a day there before commencing a safari through Botswana, and I'm trying to pick from the huge array of activities available!

Obviously we want some time to walk and see the falls. I'm considering a helicopter flight over maybe? Or, perhaps, a jet boat? I'd love to know anyone's experiences.

Will be travelling with dp and dds age 13 and 15.

I did a microlight flight over V8c Falls, which was fab. Also did whitewater rafting which started at the base of the falls, which was terrifying and made me decide I am never whitewater rafting again.

I enjoyed Botswana.

@EBearhug thank you! I looked at the white water rafting too. If you only had time for one, would you have picked the flight?

Do you have any hints or tips from Botswana? I'm really excited about going!

In Botswana, I did a small aircraft flight over the Okavango Delta (it was a Cessna or similar, 4 seater.) That was amazing. Also did a foot safari there, which started with a talk about how to run away from different animals (straight or zig zag, etc) the details of which I forget. I have not forgotten treading barefoot on a snake, though...

I also had my first ever Nando's in Maun.

If you do the helicopter flight then get one with the gorge extension. Loved it.

I'm not brave enough for microlights or whitewater rafting so didn't even consider those 😆

Thank you! We will go to the Okavango, but no flight planned (only canoe and walking safari). It's the part I'm most looking forward to!

I'll look at the options for extending the helicopter flight @DisplayPurposesOnly, thanks for the suggestion!

We’ve also done the white water rafting, the river was low at the time (Sept) so most of the rapids were grade 5 and we capsized twice. It was terrifying and exhilarating and it remains one of the most memorable holiday days I’ve ever done! It was a full day and we then walked out of the gorge at the end (very steep climb), and drove back to the town in an old army truck with the sun setting and drinking bottles of cold beer. Amazing memory.
When we were there, there was huge amounts of spray coming up from the falls so we couldn’t actually see them very well, not sure if a helicopter ride would have been good or a waste of time.
Great place though, we stayed in town and had to walk past the wild elephants roaming in the streets (very carefully I may add), to get to the falls.
We also did a couple days on the Chobe river, lots and lots of elephants.
