Italy with 14 and 11 year old - campsites / resort hotels??

We really enjoy Eurocamp style French campsites - usually book direct though and recently have been to south west France where the surfing / body boarding was great! Kids and us like the freedom they make friends, we get peace, they are very active, very happy sorting basic meals etc

Fancy trying Italy next year - but not sure about flying as we currently drive and take a large people carrier absolutely jam packed with stuff!!

Are there any areas that you’d recommend for active teens??

Any recommendations for resorts or campsites??

How do you pack?! We’d usually take a starter kit for self catering - presume we’d just have to buy then throw out all the store cupboard stuff??

Or does anyone have a hotel recommendation that’s near a town and very resort feel???

We have a decent budget (£10k for 2 weeks inc spending money)

Help!!

We ferried and drove to lake garda, stayed at le torri il Garda, would highly recommend

From your description the Italian lakes might be a good fit for you, and although obviously further than France, you could drive there.
Otherwise the Tuscan coastline comes to mind. It’s a bit more rugged than other coastal areas and some has good camping areas.

We drove to Park Albatros in Tuscany (not in one go mind) and that had lots for teens. Huge site with lots going on all the time. It used to be a Canvas Family Active site. We are just back from TUI Magic Life Calabria (20 mins from Lamezia airport) and they do family rooms, watersports, archery, mountain bikes, exercise classes, gym, tennis, teen get togethers in the evening etc. The food was lovely - but caveat that i stayed in the adult only part (over 16) and my only activity was lounging, swimming and drinking aperol spritzes. There is a shuttle into town, and they can also sort car hire.

Thanks all! I’m really not sure I can cope with that long in the car even if we split it. And if we split it enough for me it would take 3 days to get there then again to get back!!

I will look at the hotel option mentioned thank you.

People did fly to Pisa and get a taxi to Park Albatros.
