Does anyone know this area well and could recommend activities. Boys age 13 /16

Moors Country Park has Go Ape and also bike trails, although there are many bike trails in the NF, especially in the Burley area. They may like Beaulieu Motor Museum.

Lots of wonderful walks (via pubs or tearooms) in the forest or along the coast.
Walk out to Hurst Castle and take the ferry to Keyhaven or vice versa.
Hengistbury Head and Mudeford.
Hire bikes in Brockenhurst or Lyndhurst.
Airsoft or paintballing.
Beaulieu Motor Museum (££ though unless you have National Art Pass)
Lepe Country Park - nice cafe and walk along the beach to see D-Day infrastructure.
Take a boat ride from Lymington Quay to look at the yachts, then get pasties on the High Street.
Unfortunately wet weather activities are limited. Could head into Southampton for usual city pursuits.

My suggestions all have a cost, plus I have younger girls so no idea if these will appeal to teenage boys!

Calshot Activity Centre has indoor climbing and Ringos - basically going down indoor ski slope in an inflatable ring. But it's right on very eastern edge of NF so could be quite far depending where you're staying. https://www.hants.gov.uk/thingstodo/calshot

If they like indoor climbing there's also a place near Ringwood: https://www.ggclimbing.com/autobelays

If interested in animals there's the Wildlife Park. The keeper talk at Wolverine feeding time was satisfyingly blood thirsty. There's an adventure playground too. https://newforestwildlifepark.co.uk/
