We are staying in a village called Hurley near Maidenhead for a week in June and just wondered if anybody could recommend some eating places suitable for children near by.
Thanks

As well as the usual pizza express, pizza hut etc in Maidenhead, there is Franceso's which is a local italian restaurant.

Hurley is very near Marlow (I lived in Hurley for a while) and also near Henley (equidistant really). There is a pizza express and zizzi in Marlow High Street and a great park with lots of things to do for the kids and then you can go and feed the ducks. Also just about 10 mins away is Henley - there are also the PE and Zizzi chains there but also a Strada which I really like as they do more than pizza and also have a really nice kids menu.

Maidenhead is ok (sorry to all the Maidenheaders out there !) but really more of just a functioning town than a destination plance IMHO....Cookham is quite pretty too - there's a pub called the Ferry on the bridge there which also allows kids and there is a nice walk along the river from there....The food at the Ferry isn't what I would call fantastic but you'll get an ok lunch....

We have a Blubeckers near us and they are also great with kids.

Not sure what you're planning on doing and not sure how old your kids are but my ds and my nephews 2,4 and 6 love the Bekonscot model village in Beaconsfield ?- straight up the dual carriageway to the M40 and one junction to Beaconsfield - about 15/20 mins. A family ticket for 2 adults plus 2 kids is £21 so not too bad compared to some horrors (Legoland for eg).....

Windsor also not too far away.
Sorry, I sound like a tour operator and you probably know all this and all you asked for was eateries !!

Bye !!

Thanks Chippyminton for the link to the Italian restaurant, it looks good

Herbgarden - wow that was an extensive reply and really appreciated. My girls are 3 and 6 so the model village may suit them perfectly.
Thanks again

there are some great pubs with gardens that welcome kids if you like that sort of thing - have a look in the alistair sawday guidebook or website - they have a child logo
