Noise levels in Agadir in December

Hello. I am planning a holiday over Christmas this year and was thinking about Agadir (the Hotel Club Almoggar Garden Beach is looking appealing, so far, in terms of facilities and budget). However, I keep reading things about 'animators' and, having had a nightmare of a time in Antalya a couple of years ago regarding loud and incessant noise everywhere (even at the 'relaxing' places and every time we settled on the beach), I am very keen to avoid that kind of thing. I realise that that was Turkey and this is Morocco, but I have read about noise from hotels in Morocco. The noise in Antalya - in a fairly rural location, not a big hotel area - ruined the holiday as I am very sensitive to noise and just want somewhere I can lie on a beach/by the pool in peace to recover from a challenging year, or do some sight-seeing without 'being entertained'. Can anyone advise, please, before I book and spend hard-earned cash. Thanks!

We have went to agadir but not that hotel and not in December. The beach or anywhere outside the hotels was relatively hardcore with people approaching you to sell you things. There was camels walking up and down the beach when we went for the tourists too. I don’t recall too much noise inside the resort, but I have kids so am pretty immune to that side of things. I def found it sensory overload outside the resorts though and whilst we loved the place, I wasn’t able to relax on the beach at all.

Agadir is horrible, go somewhere else.

You can’t lie quietly on a beach in Agadir - someone will try to sell you something about every 8 seconds

I would go to Marrakech. There's no sights to see in Agadir and there's lots of quiet resort hotels around the outskirts of Marrakech. Most will run a free shuttle into the city.

Many thanks for your replies; all useful information. I will have a rethink; possibly a riad instead of a hotel, and noted regarding the beach and people trying to sell things all the time.

A friendly peaceful hotel, I was really pleased with the quality for the cost in 2019, it seems to have had a refit since. Popular with return customers

I have stayed here twice, 2017 and 2018. Fantastic peaceful place just outside Marrakech. Peaceful, good food lovely staff.

I would keep a close eye on the current political situation in Morocco as
protests against the government and corruption are currently taking place.

@AttilaTheMeerkat Thanks, I will do.

Essaouira would be a better bet.
