UK breaks

Hi,

Would love some ideas for a weekend break. Looking for relaxation maybe spa?

we are late 40’s done the usual London, Bath, Oxford, Canterbury etc.

We have NT membership as DH has to be doing something (not too much relaxing 😂) so places near NT would be great.

Are Warner breaks too old?? 🤣

TIA

Buxton? The Buxton Crescent Hotel & Spa is lovely, nice town to wander around, in the Peak District for walks, the only NT place I know in the area is Longshaw, which probably isn't that close, but I'm sure there will be others.

Shropshire is lovely and surprisingly un-touristed.

Stokesay Castle is really interesting, Ludlow very pretty and foodie, the Long Mynd a great place for walking.

If you like history, the whole Ironbridge complex/museum could easily occupy you for two days.

I enjoyed Boringdon Hall, Plymouth. It has a lovely spa and we did a boat trip and visited a NT property.

May be too far afield @Usefulcider but Stobo Castle is fabulous

I was just coming on to say the same the spa is very good, stunning countryside scenery and walks and the food was also very good too. But I would opt for midweek of poss as its quieter and stay in the main hotel not a lodge.

DH had a lovely break in North Berwick in January. Really pretty town, some nice beaches and OK countryside.

The Peak District Castleston / Bakewell / Ashford in the Water. You can visit Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall (although not national trust) and Hardwick Hall (NT). Loads of walks, pubs and places to see.

Peak District
Shropeshire
Chester (can't remember if we did NT or EH mainly, that was the year we had both memberships)
