Australia vs New Zealand solo travel

Going on a solo travel trip. I don’t drive. Happy with my own company but also pretty sociable.

What’s better? Oz or NZ? I like culture, museums, natural beauty.

NZ seems a bit more affordable than Oz for travelling around.

I’d go to New Zealand.

I've been to both , but I'd stick to Europe for culture & museums.

Both are expensive. Both have amazing scenery although I think NZ pips Oz. Australia is massive and therefore expensive and/or time consuming to get around. NZ very manageable and easy to travel around. If you can only do 1 then do NZ.

NZ is fabulous, but it’s mainly about the great outdoors. The South Island especially is stunningly beautiful. I’ve not used public transport there but I can only imagine that the (relatively) shorter distances would make it more feasible.
