Where would you recommend for just DH and I? We haven't been to Lanzarote before so fancy it.

A quiet resort but with a small selection of bars and restaurants. Easy to travel from using local buses. Pretty would be good.

Hotel that's not big but has some evening entertainment. Good food and nice views too.

Thanks

My parents love Playa Blanca, they like a quiet resort with nice restaurants. They usually book a villa or apartment so no specific recommendations.
Lanzarote generally it’s quite easy to get between the main resorts by bus. You will also be able to book coach tours to the main attractions

It's a lovely time of year to go. Playa Blanca is a big resort but relatively quiet and chilled compared to the others. Lots of accommodation options. I would recommend hiring a car and exploring the island - it's beautiful and fascinating.

I was going to suggest Playa Blanca too.

It's not overly pretty though, but Lanzarote isn't really.

I mean the mountains/volcanos/sea is pretty to look at but then that's it really. After a few days you kind of get fed up of looking at because obviously it's nearly all black.

While you're there, don't miss making a day trip by ferry over to La Graciosa, which is magical (and not black).

Another vote for Playa Blanca. It's the nicest of the three main resort areas, although Puerto del Carmen old town area isn't too bad, anywhere west of Playa Chica around the marina. But the south of the island is most reliable for good weather in winter.

There's a regular bus from the airport and to other places on the island, although if you want to go further north than Arrificefe, I'd book a coach tour instead so you can be taken round several places, rather than have to get a bus to Arricefe, get another bus further north and also rely on often infrequent buses to more remote parts of the island.

You can also get the ferry over to Fuerteventura from PB and can walk along the coast either way, to the west there's the red mountain, which is nice to walk up and to the east Papagayo beaches, which might be a bit far to walk there and back depending on where you're staying, but I'm sure there will be an option for people without cars, eg bus or taxi.

Matagorda! It's quiet but only a 20 minute walk to Puerto del Carmen. You can bet the bus to Playa Blanca and Costa Teguise plus to Teguise market. Flat enough to do mobility scooters. Enough bars and shops to visit but not feel bustling.
We stay at the Hotel Lanzarote Village, it's really lovely.

We go most years in January.
Playa Blanca might suit. The Iberostar Lanzarote Park is a lovely sea front hotel with an adult only area ( separate pool, accommodation and restaurant).
PB is right at one end of the island so not the best for getting around.
I also like Puerto del Carmen which is more central, close to the airport and has much nicer beaches.

Thank you so much for everyone's suggestions. We are going to book something this weekend.
