Rare chance to escape - Tallin/Krakow/Vilnius?

I might just be able to go away with my three DC (14, 8, 6) during Oct half term. 3 nights max, so nowhere with a long flight.

Tallin/Krakow/Vilnius? Or somewhere else, maybe Istanbul? Not been to any of these places.

Relevant factors - cost (especially eating out), walkable, museums, galleries, nice food, welcoming.

Would appreciate views and ideas!

One of my friends is very well travelled and has done loads of city breaks, but her favourite was Vienna. She did also enjoy Krakow and Tallinn.

On a similar theme, Riga was great - lots of good museums, churches and very walkable. Huge market.

Thanks everyone. I will get looking at the cost of flights!

Ive been to Krakow and Tallinn. For a short break I'd recommend Krakow, there's more to do there. I loved Tallinn but the best attractions were out of the centre.

I loved Tallinn. The city centre looks like something out of a fairytale! Be aware that the picturesque city centre is only small, but there are various interesting museums. You could also take the ferry over to Helsinki for the day, but Helsinki is more expensive.
