Formule 1 hotels in france - are they any good for young families for a stopover night?

Does anyone have any experience of them? I stayed in one years ago as a singleton but am not sure what they would be like for a family of 4. Their website isn't great and indicates that you can only sleep 3 in a room. Can anyone advise?!

TIA

Hi there

In my experience, they are a bit too basic for a family overnighter!

Firstly, they only accommodate 3 people per room (1 double with a bunk above) but moreover, you don't have your own bathroom and loo. You get a sink but there are communal toilets/showers etc.

Have you looked at Premiere Classe as they are cheap and cheerful, have private bathrooms and if they don't have quad rooms, you can get inter-connecting rooms. They don't cost much, offer a buffet breakfast where kids go free, have secure parking....

Where are you looking to stay?

good luck and hope this helps!

No no no you can't possibly go to Formule 1. Full of truck drivers and prostitutes

I've stayed at a Formula One with own bathroom. Twas the size of a loo (literally in fact), but it was still there!!

You want that other hotel chain, what is it again...begins with an E..????

Ooh puppymonkey - that one beginning with E. On tip of my tongue. Summat like Etap?

Campanile were always good when we drove around france with two little ones.

PuppyMonkey · 02/06/2008 13:25

Etap sounds right...... I think. Thanks! [relieved emoticon]

Docket - dont if you really dont have to - not very pleasant place to stay on holiday.

I would rather camp on the M25 ....

MrsBadger · 02/06/2008 13:27

yep - worth going one notch up the Accor ladder for an Etap.

We slept 4 in a F1 hotel in Calais last year.
I would not recomend it to the dog!!
Toilets were filthy and we did not risk a shower.
