Camper van hire in France

We’re investigating hiring a camper van next year and travelling around France.
can anyone recommend a good reliable company that they’ve used recently?

Are you looking to hire one in France (i.e., you cross the Channel by plane or Eurostar and pick it up), or in the UK and driving it over? The thread title suggests the former, but then I'd expect maybe an indication of where you are going to start and end. France is huge and you probably don't want to spend more than 4–5 hours driving a camper at an average of 40 mph when you could be doing other stuff in daylight, so unless you have a month for the trip you will need to pick a part of the country, even if it's just "south and east of Paris".

Ah yes we’d be hiring one there and at the moment thinking flight/train and base ourselves around Carcassonne area- but this isn’t decided.

OK... my thought was that there's not much point in someone recommending a rental place in Lille if you are going to be based in Carcassonne (a lovely area, by the way).
