Prague. Now looking at Easter / May instead of Xmas 😢

A few expenses have arisen and don’t think we can afford to go at Christmas now. Is Prague still lovely in the spring? I’m sure it is but is it nicer to be there at Xmas instead? I’m hoping to save up again for the spring but if it’s a nicer experience in December perhaps we will wait until 2026. Thanks

We went just after Easter 2 years ago and it was lovely. Surprisingly busy. I've also been at Xmas and it was bloody freezing. I think Prague is one of those places you can visit all year round and it's still beautiful. It is hugely busy these days mind but you can find spots to avoid the crowds.

I've been about 10 times at different times of year, and still love it.

Just like Christmas, at Easter there will be large vats full of live carp for sale on most streets. Our guide told us people take them home and keep them in their bathtub.

I have been 3 times, in different seasons. All have been lovely in different ways. Prague has much more to offer than Christmas markets!

I’ve been for NYE and in February. February was better as there were about 25% of the people there. I think it would be good all year around.

At easter there is a lovely easter market, the weather is great. I would highly recommend easter (been twice then)

The cherry blossom & magnolia season in Prague is stunning and the Easter markets are lovely too. Just be aware that the weather is very changeable, you can literally experience all four seasons in one day in springtime in Prague!

We went over Easter 2 years ago and had a great time. Weather was a mix of really nice and sunny but also the odd rain shower. Temperature wise it's similar to the UK.

Everything was open but if you plan to visit the Jewish cemetry and synagogues (they are very interesting) do check as their holidays meant it was closed on some days but open on others.

Shops may have been closed on Good Friday, I actually can't remember and Easter Sunday but cafes, restaurants are open.
