I really need to use this carpark as I have to make a swift exit when I land. Does anyone know any tips for getting it a bit cheaper or do I just need to grit my teeth and go direct? I don’t need a hotel

Just confirming you are.on about the actual car park attached to T5,

If so I think (subject to correction) you have to book direct and I guess you've seen the prices?

Using the Pod or one of the valet lot might be worth looking at but obviously risks delays.

We used pod parking for the first time this summer and we were very impressed. Cheaper than short stay or premium. And really quick when we came back late at night.

If you really want to leave quickly, I'd use premuim as its the shortest walk.

We use T5 regularly but haven't been able to find any discounts though.

Thank you very much. yes, it is the car park attached to terminal five that I’m talking about. Looks like I’ll just have to suck it up.

Meet and greet is usually cheaper and just as quick as short stay because your car is waiting for you when you land.

Get meet and greet. We used them this summer and the car was waiting for us when we came out the airport.

Might depend on the gate.

I suspect if the OP arrives on a domestic gate on the main terminal and is hand baggage only then meet and greet might not work out and might result in delays
.
If they arrive on an international gate, especially onto T5B or C then meet and greet could work.

Where are you driving to? You can pick up a Zipcar from the T5 car park to save having to leave your car there. But you can only park up at the end of your journey if it is within London, as far as I am aware.

CMOTDibbler · 14/09/2025 19:22

I find it actually quicker to use Pod parking than the short stay as its way faster to exit the car park once you are over there as people as so rubbish in the short stay.

I'm away in half term from T5
Just checked and Pod parking on its own is £15 more expensive than my booking at the Thistle hotel with 4 nights parking ( including the Pods fare)
I booked through Holiday Extras so I could use TopCashBack as well.

Thank you everyone. It’s a European flight and I’m going quite a way afterwards- away from London.
I’ll look at meet and greet.

Just a warning about meet and greet, make sure you use the official Heathrow one and/or check what you’re paying for. A friend recently used a meet and greet and had to pay the £7.50 short parking fee for drop off and pickup do an extra £15!

Maple Parking Meet and Greet all the way. Extremely smooth and super quick. We always use them. You can probs find a discount code.
