Hi everyone, I am off to Dubai with my children aged 9 and 6 in a few months. Hotel and everything sorted but I am looking for inspiration on trips and activities. If you've been, can you let me know what your children loved or what to avoid? Thank you.

The aquarium at the mall is nice. The burj khalifa is good on a clear day but not so great if it’s foggy. I think apart from those we just mooched around the malls enjoying the food and shopping. Ihop is a great place to eat with kids that age - the food on offer is just like that in the US ihops.

Day at Atlantis the Palm if you aren’t staying there or visit another water park.

Mine loved La Perle and Green Planet. The museum of the Futute was rubbish.

The highlight of my kids trip was the waterpark at the Atlantis.
they also loved the mall, and we had lunch there overlooking the fountains, which was lovely

Another vote for the water park at Atlantis The Palm.

The dancing fountains (not at Atlantis!) are amazing and are free to view. I think you can see them from a boardwalk thing, or there are quite a few restaurants with views of them too (book in advance; you probably want a table on the terrace). The Burj Khalifa is also near there and also looks amazing lit up at night. This is a great area to be in after dark.

Al Seef area is really nice. Modern buildings built in the traditional style. There are some really nice restaurants. Then hire a boat on Dubai Creek or a quick trip on an abra to the souqs.

There’s a few theme parks. We went to motiongate which was fab. There’s also loads of stuff at the mall like kidzania, ice skating, mirror maze, VR arcade. The global village was bad but have a look into it first to see if you think that would be suitable for your kids but my teen loved it. The miracle gardens is also good. Dessert safari is also good but again just do a bit of research to see if it would be ok for your kids. I think it’s fine for any age and we loved it.

Another vote for Aquaventure Waterpark and Motiongate.

Not an activity but you should check out Black Tap. We end up there a few times every time we go as the kids are obsessed with their milkshakes, they are impressive!
