Loch Lomond in October with active 6 year old?

Would this be crazy? We normally do a cottage type holiday in England but live in SE England so it would be quite a journey up. I've found some excellent accommodation with an indoor pool which DC would love though. I know there are a few things near Loch Lomond such as the Sea Life Centre, but is October going to give us enough to do? (I assume wayyy to cold for things like paddle boarding). We are happy enough in all weathers wearing our waterproofs and boots etc, so it's more about whether the activities will be sufficient for our active child.

Thanks

if you've got boots and waterproofs you should be ok. I definitely wouldn't want to be out paddle boarding at that time of year but I'm sure some people would.
You can easily get the train into Glasgow from Balloch if the weather is really bad, the Transport Museum and Science Centre would be good for a 6 year old.
You could also get over to Stirling for the castle or Blairdrummond safari park. There's walks, cycling and a Go Ape at Queen Elizabeth forest.
www.walkhighlands.co.uk website is excellent for finding walking routes.
Scottish half term is usually a week earlier than England too (because they go back to school mid Aug) so you might find places are quieter than south of the border.
