just wondered if you pack using the rolling or folding method? I use packing cubes what do others do? Also how soon in advance do you pack your case? I tend to leave it until night before

If packing cubes I fold.

I roll, My flight is on Sunday and I’m already packed.
I wouldn’t normally but I was swapping my summer/winter wardrobe last week so I thought I might as well pack for sunnier climates now, no chance I’m going to need a bikini and flip flops between now and Sunday.
My husband on the other hand couldn’t give a toss and will probably spend Saturday night ranting about stuff he can’t find, not my problem.. I’m going out!

I’ve heard the compression ones are better

I use packing cubes and roll. I have two colours for me and DH so can just lift out into a drawer in the hotel. Going in ten days time.

Roll into packing cubes.
If you fold into packing cubes, you still have to move things to find what you want, whereas rolled you can see at a glance.

I pack the day before if it's an early start to the airport, or on the day itself if it's a late start or UK break.

Usually a mix of folding and rolling in packing cubes - some things go in flat better and others are ok to roll. e.g. i roll t-shirts so they can be easily taken out and stay in the packing cubes once i'm there, but dresses I'll fold and hang up on arrival.
Let's just say I'm not an advance packer......

I am a last minute packer, but I usually do a sweep of the house a day or 2 prior, to make sure there is nothing lying around in unexpected places that is dirty and might need to come on holiday. The kids have a habit of leaving stuff in all sorts of places that is not the wash basket. I also just fold clothes, but we travel quite light and usually space is not an issue, so I have not got into packing cubes. The only time I have problems getting things to fit in the cases is when we go to Australia and the kids get bought endless amounts of stuff that takes a lot of creative packing to get home. Think oodies....
