Four days in Geneva for walking?

I have a trip booked next year with 5 days planned in and around Milan. Because of the bank holiday for one more day of annual leave, I can get four days away. So I’m looking at Geneva to then travel down to Milan. I was planning some day trips to go walking in the alps, is this possible with one hand luggage bag?

I’m on the Tour de Mont Blanc Facebook group. It’s doable, but your walking poles will be an issue in carryon baggage, so you may have to buy some there. You can find packing list ideas on there too.
have a great trip!

Do you mean the large trolley case or smaller rucksack size bag?

Either way, you probably need to wear your walking boots and coat for travel, which you see a lot to 'hiking' destinations.

For walking poles, perhaps look at local Facebook groups or ask your accommodation to see if these can be hired or if there's a second hand option.

There must be endless people who fly in for walking so can't take their poles, so you'd hope someone has solved this issue.

Plans have moved on as it just won’t be possible to get from Geneva to Milan easily enough 😔

That’s a shame.
I was going to suggest collapsible walking poles.

I thought there would be direct flights from Geneva to Milan, but there aren’t and the train is just at a really bad time! But it’s definitely going to be on my list for a trip!
