Thinking of going in late August, never been on a Siblu holiday before - any recommendations/thoughts or tips? TIA

Got back from a Siblu holiday on Thursday, different site though. I was quite impressed - the site and accommodation were in good condition and clean. The ds's loved the Bubble club and Pirate club.

I would have no hesitation in going on a Siblu holiday again - especially as we used Clubcard vouchers and it cost us next to nothing!

We went to La Carabasse two years ago - weather was gorgeous and it was only May, so I'm guessing it will be hot in August.

Do you have anything specific you want to know about the site? We had no complaints at all - fab holiday and we're off to another Siblu park in a couple of weeks.

Thanks all. I suppose I want to know things like - what should we take with us (eg: food, equipment), is it expensive to eat out, what is standard of camps, kids clubs, entertainment etc. Also will we be OK without a car as thinking of flying there?

Well, we had the car, but we only used it once all week (went to Cap d'Agde, which had amusement parks etc.).

Needed to take bedding, tea towels, cloths, towels but pretty much everything else was provided, and there was a supermarket on site for food, plus a cheaper, bigger one not far down the road. Now I'm racking my brains trying to think of what the kitchen utensil was I really missed...something like a tin opener, but I can't remember, sorry.

The camp was great - very clean, well-equipped, the pool complex was massive. Our dds were tiny, so they went to the smallest Kids Club, but the older kids all seemed to be having a wonderful time, and other parents were pleased with it.

Lots of entertainment at the camp. The meals weren't as cheap as in, say, Spain, but not horrifyingly expensive either.

The local beach was lovely and I think in high season there's a funfair, water park, beach sports and all that kind of thing.

sounds great! thanks wessexgirl, I feel quite excited now. Think you can hire bedding can't you? Hope so as I don't fancy taking it on the plane!

Toothyboy how did you pay with clubcard vouchers then?

wessexgirl · 01/06/2008 21:21

Yes, true, I'd forgotten you can hire all the bedding.

I have to add, we went after it recommended to us by another mumsnetter - feel like I'm passing on the baton.

Hope you have a great time.

You have to convert your vouchers to Deals tokens first (4x their worth - so for £10 of vouchers you get £40 Deals tokens), then ring Siblu telling them you'd like to pay with Clubcard tokens. Our holiday total price was £675, we paid £535 of that with Clubcard.

Check out Clubcard Deals here.

We have been twice in late August! (Maybe we recommended it to Wessexgirl??) and yes, it's lovely.

The only 2 complaints we have had are:

The service at the onsite restaurant was the slowest we EVER saw anywhere. DS was asleep! However, you can walk to a lovely group of restaurants just along the road with a much bigger choice, lovely food, much cheaper!

At the end of the season the onsite shop stocks next to nothing - but again you can walk along road a bit or drive to hypermarket.

We found a lovely winecave and bought home 120 bottles one year!!!!

The beach is walkable through the vineyards, but for little legs it can be a long walk on a hot day, but you can drive to the beach in just a few minutes. The sea is very calm & great to swim in. There used to be a Siblu beach bar with a Happy hour

Have fun!
