Sunny family getaway over xmas?

We've decided to book a much needed get away just after Xmas as we want a more low key Xmas this year and to spend the money on a holiday instead....
Leaving either Boxing Day / day after for some winter sun.

Potentially canary island - any suggestions or islands / hotels? We have 2 primary aged kids.

Also considering further afield - Cape Verde / Dubai or similar.

Any recommendations?

Middle East or Caribbean both mid-haul destinations that will guarantee you beach suitable temps. Canary Islands not so much in my view - less reliable

depends on your budget? Cheap destination I would go North Africa , Tunisia, Morocco ect. Beautifully sunny during the day but chilly at night. We went to Marrakech this time last year, it was pleasantly 25 !!

Lanzarote or Morocco

Have spent a few Christmases in Fuerteventura, it’s been sunny, but the days are noticeably short e.g. it’s warm between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and gets dark early-ish.

Also found the resorts get horribly loud (for me) with the sudden influx of hyper excitable guests for the Xmas/New Year periods, noise and sleep disturbance can be an issue.

Can highly recommend flying home on Christmas Eve for anyone who is interested though, always a good deal in December, plus a near empty aircraft for the flight home 😃

I would recommend Mogan in Gran Canaria. GC has better weather than the other canary islands in my experience, never as windy, and Mogan has it's own microclimate making it the best part of Gran Canaria weather-wise. It's got a lovely harbour & marina area (known as little venice, it's beautiful) and a really nice beach. Lots of lovely restaurants too. Much quieter vibe than the rest of the island, but still a great atmosphere.

Thailand is great if you don't mind long haul. Happy to advise re UAE options (try All Inclusive in Ras al Khaimah)
