If I book a holdiay for early Oct . How likely are we to get all 3 seats together on the plane.

2 adults and dd 9.
If all or most other passengers have paid to select seats prior is there likely to be much left. Dd hasn't flown since 2year old so would be nervous to sit alone.
If it's unlikely I think we'll just book something for next year.
Would be with Tui most likely.

You will be able to book seats as you book the holiday.
Worst case I imagine would be a two and one.

We have booked Tui flights the day before and be allocated seats together.

Out if school holidays id say pretty good chance.

However... TUI do outsource to Easyjet and other airlines. So double check your airline

When you go to book, you can choose your seats, it will show you what’s available, then you can pay to book, each way, it’s the only guarantee of sitting together.

You get to pay for and choose your seats when you book. Please don’t be one of those people who doesn’t do this and then expects everyone else to give up their - paid for and reserved seats- on the plane to accommodate you. Drives me nuts.

We rarely book seats and always get assigned a row of three together.

Dont quite alot of airlines ensure that any child under 12 is seated with an adult from their party? That was the case this year for ue with Ryanair and the same last year with EasyJet.

I have a TUI holiday booked that uses Ryanair for the journey as we are travelling different days of the week than the TUI flight. I was given a reference for the Ryanair flight and then I had to log into Ryanair where I was able to pay extra to book seats together. In terms of of the nearness of the date, in the past we’ve booked a flight 3 days before travel and still got to sit next to DH because we opted to pay the extra and a lot of people don’t do this.

Perfect I am more than happy to pay extra..I don't expect people to give up seats . It's just been a long time and before I wasn't the one booking it.

At the time of booking, ask to choose your seats, they will show you on the screen what is available. If they are not available then you don’t need to book that holiday/ date you can change it.

If you book with TUI they have a policy that all children under 12 will be sat with an adult (although it could be across the aisle etc). No guarantee that the adults will be sat together. Having said that, when we’ve booked with TUI we’ve always been sat together without paying for seats (2 adults, 2 kids) even when the children were over 12. I do check in as soon as it opens if I can. Last year we went with Jet2 and we were all sat separately so make of that what you will.

With Jet2 you can reserve your seat before you make your booking. With TUI you can't and have to pay first then try and get suitable seats. Not sure about any others but out of school holidays it's probably unlikely to be a problem.

Did you not reserve your seats with Jet2 on booking? Yes you have to pay extra but I’ve never not done this.

I’ve flown on 2 separate occasions with Tui this summer and didn’t pay the extra costs to sit together. On all 4 flights we were were given seats together anyway ( flight 1&2 were for 3 adults, flights 3&4 were for 2 adults)

Each time we were given seats together.
All adults, and 4 hour flights so we were happy to risk of not sitting together.

That’s not true. You can choose your seats as part of the booking process with TUI. You can even see if there’s seats you would
like before putting in any details. With Jet2 it wants personal details before you see the seats.
