Center Parcs - Elveden, Woburn or Longleat

Iv always been to Elveden and id like to know what the other 2 locations I like are worth staying at or do I stick to Elveden. Planning to go in mid December this year.

I have a 2.5 year old , we want accommodationo close to the centre , a short walk away.

We will mainly be using the splash park, swimming pool, rapids & play area if not too cold!

plus any suitable toddler activities we find!

Iv noticed Longleat and Woburn have lodges with hot tubs for a much reduced cost than Elveden, i’m unsure why this is! But I would like a hot tub.

Thoughts please!

I prefer Woburn to Elveden because it’s smaller, cleaner and newer. However the pool isn’t as good - there’s not as many things to do as Elveden, like the little jacuzzi pools, warm lagoon, pirate play area and flumes. I think this might be why they charge less for Woburn. Woburn still has a lazy river, toddler pool, outdoor rapids, big wave pool, and some flumes. You might prefer Elveden as more things to do with a little one.

At Woburn the two centres (the plaza/sports cafe/activity den and spa in one, and pool/restaurants etc at the other) are really close to each other. It’s a bit more hilly than Elveden.

Haven’t been to Longleat so can’t compare.

Don't forget they are closing the Pirate's Cove area at Elveden in about a week and it's not scheduled to re-open until 19th Dec.

@Seawolvesomg really , im so glad you told me!!

I’ve been to all 3.

Longleat first and enjoyed it. Thisnwas
summer.

Then Elvedon in December and really loved it.

Then Woburn for Easter BH and didn’t like it. Very small and compact and also too hilly for my DS who is disabled. We just didn’t like the feel of the park and how small it all felt either.

Have done Elvedon for 2 summers since then and will always turn to this park over the other 2.

ToddlerTornado · 03/09/2025 20:10

@itsgettingweird would you go back to Longleat? Elveden is off the table now as venture cove is shut!

I would but it’s not suitable for DS as it’s hilly if you want to travel beyond the central village.

We stay in apartments because it’s just us 2 and tbh the accommodation was tiny and tired compared to Elvedon but the place itself was nice enough.

Id prefer it over Woburn as the pool is better and Woburn was just too compact (and hilly!)

They also have the land train which a) makes it easier to get around the lake and b) is a great fun activity for toddlers full stop!!!!

Longleat is my favourite and I’ve been there and Woburn. Going to Sherwood at Christmas as it’s nearer my friend. Longleat is the best though.

I've often found Woburn to be more expensive. The basic lodges are nicer at Woburn than Elveden - newer and have an en-suite in the master bedroom. (We have stayed in 3-bed lodges). The smaller size is quite good with little ones although I slightly prefer having one main centre at Elveden.

The differences with the Woburn pool are:

  • lazy river has rubber rings which I like
  • 2 kids areas are in the main pool area, not in it's own area. I quite like this, as find Venture Cove very noisy and prefer being nearer everything else e.g. knowing when the waves are on. Downside is the kids are a bit less 'contained' so might be more tempted to run off
  • smaller main pool area at Woburn I think
  • 1 main tower of 'big' slides for adults, which are mostly ring slides (can't remember if there is 1 non-ring slide)
  • As PP said, no lagoon pool or hot tubs, although the bot tubs were cold most of the time we were there.

We preferred Woburn until DD was about 7, when she decided she preferred the slides at Elveden. We have just got back from Elveden and she said 'actually Woburn did have those ring slides', so possibly she is just fussy.

Can anyone with slightly older kids (8-10 ish) tell me about the slides at Longleat and how the kids bit compares? I would like to try that one, but the slides are the most important bit for my eldest!

As above Elveden toddler bit will be shut then. I recommend the Facebook groups for info like that!

I find Woburns main pool a massive letdown. Longleat I think is the best CP. I’d go there!

They have a two person and 3/4 person ring slide at Longleat whereas Elveden just has the 3/4 person one. I prefer having both! And then you’ve got the typical green tube slides. Longleat also has the best outdoor pool by a mile.

Thank you, that's helpful. My youngest likes the green slide and my eldest would enjoy the 2 person ring slide. I like the sound of the outdoor pool, although are considering February, so it might not be super warm!

ShesTheAlbatross · 03/09/2025 22:26

Longleat is very hilly. So worth considering if you’re either pushing a pram or persuading a stubborn toddler to walk. We used to go there but since DD1 learned to ride a bike we switched to Sherwood because she can cycle more there.

Longleat also has the main village bit with the pool separate from the sports plaza/toddler activity den. I think in the others they’re more together. This might be a bit of a pain with a little one.

We’ve been in it in the snow before! It’s always warmer than the indoor one. It’s lovely! It must be 4/5 times the size of the Elveden one.

Yeah I prefer the 2 person to the 4, its a bit less crazy!

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 04/09/2025 09:10

ivw only been to Woburn but it was great for my same age son, we loved the baby owl experience. You can also do the whole thing with a buggy walking you definitely don’t need to hire a bike unless you want to
