Hi all, I know there's a few on here who know NYC well, so might get some advice. Heading to NYC next Spring. We are two adults and a teenager and I am looking for a budget room (€250/night or less seems to be the bottom for clean but basic rooms, I think).
I've found rooms in this budget in well-reviewed hotels in Brooklyn Downtown, Long Island City and the Financial District.
Which would you go for of these three? Priorities being transport connections (including to Queens and Williamsburg where we want to visit), and not being in the middle of the NYC madness while we wake up and try and find a coffee in the morning first thing (so avoiding Times Square and surrounds).
I like the sound of Brooklyn Heights as an area to wander around but not sure what Brooklyn Downtown is like - and I don't think there's much in LIC or FiDi we want to see - so it's very much just as a cheap base.
Don't want to go above €300 / room ideally.
