Christmas in Tenerife

Thinking this year is the year I say f*ck you and take me and my boys away from the awkwardness of co-parenting at Christmas. I should point out for the past three years since we separated I’ve played the happy family game and we’ve spent it together (begrudgingly). Last year - as always, I bought all the food, presents and hosted. He turned up, ate / drank and I drove him home.. no thank gift - nothing! I’m just not prepared to do that anymore and he’s now moved 150 miles away. I’ve been the parent doing it all throughout the whole summer, we’ve had a wonderful time - two holidays, one abroad at a water park and one long weekend at a activities/music festival and he’s done nothing. I’m looking at Tenerife, could be warm still and the Siam waterpark sounds like fun! Anyone been? I’ve been away for Christmas before kids and loved it, no massive pressure to put on a show (can you tell I’m not a fan) 😆 We don’t really have any family it’s just us, I’m keen to break the tradition and the boys are on-board. Just looking for others opinions.

Yip we done it two years ago. We went Xmas eve so I had a fake Xmas day at home on the 23rd, full Xmas dinner, presents etc. Xmas day we were at Siam Park and it was fantastic. We booked a villa so it was all very chilled out. Thinking wel do it again next year.

Having Christmas Day on the 23rd is a brilliant idea, then everyone gets the best of both worlds

It definitely requires alot of organisation to prep for "Xmas day", do the clean up after and get five people's stuff organised and packed for a flight at 5am the next morning, but I like to be under pressure 😂 I'd maybe do it a couple of days before next time. My kids are past the santa age now, but it still did actually feel like Xmas day.

Definitely go, I have been several times over the Christmas period it really is great and had lovely weather. The Christmas Gala evening dinner was out of this world a mixture of traditional British and traditional Spanish food.

I’m looking at Siam park for Christmas Day funny enough! Didn’t think of doing the whole Christmas thing beforehand 😆😆 that’s not a bad idea!

Can't comment on Christmas abroad specifically but we were at Siam Park yesterday and it was fantastic. Definitely worth doing if you like waterparks.
