Turn up at Calais??

What’s Calais currently looking like MNs? Full of mums like me - ‘best holiday ever’ through gritted teeth while telling the kids they have to be silent for ten whole minutes otherwise mummy’s brain will explode and you can’t take fresh meat through customs so will have to leave mummy behind.
we have a crossing tomorrow morning - staying in Calais - anyone think it’s worth us turning up and hoping to get on a crossing tonight or is it madness there?

I’ve been in that situation before and tweeted the ferry company to ask, and they responded very quickly. Might be worth a try. If they have room, they’ll let you on but I’d imagine there’s an exodus of families returning from holiday this weekend. Good luck!
