What clothes to pack for Western Canada early October

Vancouver, the Rockies, national parks, etc. Some on the train, some driving, staying in hotels. We’re not big hikers but will enjoy doing some walking.

Typically, how warm/ chilly/ wet can we expect and what clothes to pack? I’m not a fleece person so don’t really want to buy anything like that if I can avoid it as I won’t wear again.

Layers - vests, shirts, sweaters. you will need hat and gloves. We did Vancouver and Vancouver Island in November. We had a wonderful time but I don’t remember it being very warm.

Fab thank you. Was it wet?

It can’t half rain in Vancouver. That’s when you go to the aquarium.

We went to Banff and Vancouver for our honeymoon one June. Even then we had everything from boiling hot to snowing, with a massive thunderstorm to top things off. North America has crazy weather. Be prepared for anything!

Blimey! Thanks

Eastern Canada - layers upon layers. Cold/frosty in the mornings and evenings but when we had sun during the day it got warm enough with just a fleece or warm hoodie.

The advantage of fleece is that it packs up small compared to a hoodie. If you buy, I found Peter Storm (sold at Blacks or Go Outdoors) reasonable cheap but long lasting. Declathon is also ok for cheapish tops.
We bought there for DD as a Scout as she outgrew her camp stuff each year.
