Hi All - we are looking for a week away next summer, with some decent walks/hiking options.
Would like this to be abroad, and nice weather. Somewhere where we can walk in the day, maybe swim late afternoon and then eat some nice food!

Any ideas would be welcome.

Loads of stunning hikes in the Soca Valley area of Slovenia https://www.soca-valley.com/en/in-search-of-adventure/activities/hiking/ Most of them are well-served by public transport. If you decide to hire a car, parking areas are clearly marked and signposted. We swim in a few thermal pools, our heated hotel swimming pool and a couple of these: https://www.visit-goodplace.com/top-5-swimming-spots-in-soca-valley/

Hiking | Soča Valley - Slovenia

The Julian Alps, the Triglav National Park and the Soča River rank the Soča Valley among the most beautiful hiking destinations.

Any Alpine resort will give you this in Austria, France, Slovenia, Italy or southern Germany. Switzerland if money is no object.

Look at the "Lakes and Mountains" websites from the major tour operators - e.g. Inghams, Nielsen, Crystal - for some ideas. You can also try putting something together yourself - travel by train or fly to somewhere like Salzburg, then public transport or hire car to the resort.

As an example, fly to Salzburg, take free public transport to Saalbach and stay at a B&B, apartment or hotel, or even All Inclusive. Cable cars and public transport are free, as is the local outdoor pool (although many hotels have their own pools). The tourist office for Saalbach has all the info - www.saalbach.com
Even the smallest family-run B&B will be spotless, while somewhere like the ValSaa AlpinResort or Die Sonne Hotel are all inclusive with excellent restaurants.

We went to the Spanish Pyrenees last year and it was amazing. We stayed in the Monte Perdido National Park area, near Bielsa. There is the main GR11 walking route going the length of the Pyrenees, as well as a host of smaller trails. We had lovely walks in Valle della Pineta, Canyon de Anisclo and around Tella. It's limestone country, so there are lots of beautiful rivers to swim in.

Corsica is pretty good too. Mountains, rivers, beaches and pretty towns all close together on one medium-sized island.
