Flight date change

I booked a flight to Singapore with Gulfair, leaving on a Tuesday, stopover in Bahrain and arriving SG on the Wednesday. Gulfair have informed me that they have changed my flight to the Wednesday arriving SG on Thursday.

I have the option to cancel (20 working days for the refund!) but as the holiday is next month, booking with another carrier is v expensive so i will suck up the change. Gulfair have said I am not entitled to any compensation. Is this normal, or normal for Gulfair. They will not confirm if the Tuesday flight has been cancelled or they have overbooked that flight and moved my booking. If anyone has experienced similar i would be interested to hear

One for the experts but first question might be how much notice have they given you of the change?

You're not entitled to compensation. You'll be able to see if the flight is still operational on their website, it's unlikely an overbooking issue six weeks out. They can rebook you or refund you and that's all they are obliged to do. You could ask about other options on the original day but I doubt there are any if they haven't already mentioned them. Or travel the day before but the extra night accommodation will be at your own cost.

FWIW if you go on GFs booking website and look ahead into late Sept/early Oct at a quick glance it appears the only day that is missing the standard GF0165, BAH-SIN is on Tuesday 30th...

Not sure if that's the flight in question but certainly on that date it looks like GF have cancelled the service.
