Agios nikolaos crete

I stayed in elounda over 30 years ago and have very fond memories of there and agios nikolaos

I am looking to go to agios nikolaos for a week in October with a friend. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel that is within few mins walk of the main harbour etc, preferably beachfront. Thanks

My in laws have stayed at the Miramare resort 3 times and they are the type of people that do not typically go back to places. We went a few years ago wit them and stayed in an air bnb down thr road from the hotel, it was about a 10 minute walk to town and the hotel also had a private beach with chairs and umbrellas that we joined them at- it’s connected to one of the public beaches so you could also walk down and get ice creams and food delivered. In laws said loads of food choice and the pool was nice on the one pool day we joined them for. Hotel also was able to facilitate car hire etc , they booked it through TUI so had flights and transfers included
