UK mini break with child

I'm a single parent with a 10 year old daughter. The school holidays have been rubbish for both of us as I've had to work the whole time. I thought I'd try to book a mini break next week for 2 or 3 nights. It's been so long since I've booked a holiday I haven't got a clue where to look. I was thinking maybe the Norfolk coast or Wales but open to suggestions. I'd just like to go somewhere nice with nice walks, near the beach, not too expensive and with activities for kids. Thank you.

Anglesey is always lovely.

Whitby

How about the Northumberland coast? Base yourselves in somewhere like Seahouses (quite bucket and spade) or Alnmouth (beautiful, quiet, near a big beach). The beaches are gorgeous, you can see Alnwick castle where Harry Potter was filmed, go on a boat ride to see the puffins…we love it up there.

You don’t say where you are but I would second the Isle of Wight. We took our GD and fed alpacas, visited a pig farm and also went to a donkey rescue place. We took the cable car down th Alum Bay and filled souvenirs with coloured glass. There is also a brilliant circus there every year. There is also a steam railway and there are nice beaches.

Youth Hostel Association - family room. Check their website. Lots of choice - city, country or coast.

Llandudno Conwy is a great base with loads to see and do for all budgets.
The Llyn Peninsular is also great but not as much going on mainly beaches.
Whitby is another nice place.
Or an alternative?
Liverpool
Has several Beaches, great shopping loads to see and do and it's quite a compact city with good transport links.

Where do you live OP? And how long will you drive for? We are off to Woolacombe for a few days which is beautiful.

Another vote for IoW.

Where do you live? We like Barmouth Bay (Away Resorts) for a mini break, but it's only two hours from home.

Centerparcs. Your daughter will love it.

Guernsey, it's lovely.

Thank you all for your suggestions. Sorry I should have mentioned we live in Yorkshire. I hadn't considered Northumberland before but I heard it's beautiful. Lots of great ideas for me to look into.
