I can get cheap flights to Rimini which i dont want to see but it is the closest airport to San Marino.

Fly in early on Sunday stay in San Marino Sunday and Monday. Travel to Ravenna and spend Tuesday there back to Rimini on Wednesday afternoon for the flight home.

Enough time?

If you haven't booked your accommodation (or you can cancel it), I think I'd prefer to base myself in Ravenna for the trip. I'm guessing you are going there to see the mosaics etc.? It's a great town full of things to see and do. From there you can take a day trip to Bologna (1 hour journey) and eat your way around the winding streets of the food quarter, it is so different and a foodie heaven. San Marino is an hour from Ravenna too if you want a nosey around!

I haven't stayed or visited San Marino so I'm not dismissing your choices, but I have been to Ravenna and Bologna. Loved them!

Yes to see the mosaics. That sounds like a great idea. Is 3 nights enough.

It will be arriving very early on the morning and leaving late on the last day.

Yes 3 nights is enough, obviously more would be better but with good planning you will have a ball. First day get to Ravenna, have a look around and go see the mosaics - You have to book to see the ones at the Mausoleum and the Baptistery and you could do a guided tour which is great and puts things in context, but the other ones don't need booking. Get onto that right away!

Day two, off to Bologna for the day.

Day three - morning in San Marino, afternoon and nighttime in Ravenna

Day four, stroll around Ravenna and off to the airport, or just have breakfast out somewhere nice.

Enjoy.
