Similar to The Pig Hotels near Wimbledon

Hi
can anyone recommend a romantic hotel similar in vibe to The Pig hotels no more than 1 hour 1/2 away from Wimbledon? Ideally with Spa treatment on site and a freestanding bath in the room (but both are negotiable). Thanks!

Would beaverbrook in Cobham fit the bill?

I don’t know of any close to Wimbledon, but a little further afield try Lime Wood in the New Forest, and The Fish or Thyme which are both in the Cotswolds

I’ve had a look at Beaverbrook but the reviews are not great and it’s very expensive.

There are a lot of beautiful places in the New Forest and Cotswolds but they’re just a bit too far.

Maybe the Petersham in Richmond? Or The Mitre Hampton Court? the Mitre is part of the small luxury hotels group. I would not recommend Hotel du Vin in Wimbledon or Warren House Hotel.

Richmond Harbour Hotel?

Oh how Beaverbrook would love to be known as in Cobham. It’s in Leatherhead! 😂

Cannizaro Hotel (it’s a hotel du vin though as above) is in Wimbledon, up on the common, no spa though (I don’t think).

Beaverbrook is really nice. the spa is amazing.

Lime Wood is fabulous- bit further away . Restaurant and rooms are gorgeous

Coworth Park near Windsor Great Park is more glam than a Pig but romantic- also great spa and food . Its sister hotel in Sussex is the Alfriston but I’ve not stayed

Have been meaning to try the Retreat at Elcot Park

you won’t get as good value as a Pig, closer to London

Pennyhill Park or Great Fosters might be worth a look
The problem with virtually all nice hotels though is that they are full of weddings on the weekend, which is what is lovely about the Pig!
Heard nice things about the Tinwood estate but I suppose if you can get there you can get to the Pig on the South Downs, which is only an hours drive from Wimbledon.

Pennyhill park but not cheap, I didn't think Pig hotels were though.

I’ve been for afternoon tea at South Lodge https://www.exclusive.co.uk/south-lodge/about/ which was fabulous and the spa looked amazing.

South lodge spa is good and the food delicious. I didn't stay overnight though.

Coworth park or Penny Hill have both recommended to me by people I know but I haven't been myself.

Double Red Duke is lovely. Just over 1.5hrs from Wimbledon and well worth the journey. Fantastic food and huge baths! Massages available too.

Is The Pig in the South Downs fully booked? It’s near Arundel, an hour and 20 mins from Wimbledon (on a good day, obviously).
