Isle of Wight - one night

Have a ds12 and dd9, live on South coast so easily able to get to the Isle of Wight. Where is best to visit/stay for a one night break next week? Definitely want to visit the coloured sand beach!

I’d recommend staying in Godshill but the Needles are on the other side of the island.

West Wight is generally the nicest. Around Yarmouth. But beware the cost of the ferry - it’s fiendishly expensive!

Totland and Freshwater are quiet and have beaches - not too far from Alum Bay if you want to go there ( it is a bit spoilt ) . You also have the beautiful Military Road which links that area to the bottom of the island - I personally like Ventnor sea front . Also there are surf beach’s along the Military Road - Compton and Brook . Ferry - the nearest would be Lymington to Yarmouth .., though most visitors use those to Cowes and Ryde on the other side of the Island . The island isn’t massive you could have a good drive about in a day
