Toddler travel bedding after sleeping bag

Totally over thinking this I expect: we're about to transition toddler out of sleeping bags to a duvet at home.
We're planning to go away in November for a few nights. We have a tent-style travel cot that packs up small to take with us, but what do I do about other bedding? A single duvet will be several times the size of the mattress, and he's pretty much grown out of the 12-24mth sleeping bags. Do i have to pack his duvet too?

How cold will it be?

Mine is now extremely anti sleeping bags (likes to move around too much) but just kicks off a duvet. I add a vest / warmer PJ’s / slipper socks if it’s cold but otherwise he just sleeps in PJ’s on a sheet!

If you’re in a hotel they’re usually roasting.

Good point - that trip likely to be hotel but we're away every couple of months to visit family etc which will absolutely not be roasting in winter!
Also have to wait and see how he sleeps with the duvet! May need to invest in some warm pjs as have only needed vests in sleeping bags.

We use a fleece blanket or a knitted one depending on weather (all baby range from John Lewis / JoJo)
