Anyone have been in Thassos (Greece)

What is the best way you get there from London? Which airlines fly there ? I understand there is no airport on the island.

Will end of May be too cold for swimming?

We enjoy beach, food, scenery and sight seeing.

Is it worth visiting?

I flew to Kavala and took the ferry. It’s one of those islands where it’s easier to do a package and have the transfers organised for you.

It’s an island, not all islands have airports…..

TUI do packages there May to Sept. You fly to Kavala then its a short ferry ride to Thassos. We went end of May - it was lovely, very green, not too hot and plenty to do for a week.

We've been on Corfu end of May and the water was very cold, that's much further south.
Okay if you wanted to actually swim properly but not just for splashing around in.

Corfu isn’t much further south at all, and it is exposed to the med unlike Thassos. Although, the water will be warmer later in the season of course

That is great to hear; will look at flights to that airport; we don’t like package holidays but maybe they can arrange flights and ferry.

Will look into this; we normally do everything ourselves, book flights, ferry, Airbnb, rent a car; but maybe a package holiday will work.
