Gatwick - liquids in hand luggage

Hi all. Travelling in a couple of days through Gatwick. Can one now take more liquid minis that fit in the ol’ sandwhich type plastic bag they had? According to Gatwick website liquids can remain in hand luggage but still to the max of 100 ml. I’m happily packing all my mini versions of toiletries but realise if I’m asked it will be more than fits in the plastic bag. Can someone who has traveled recently give some clarity please?

You don’t take anything out of your hand luggage now. Everything stays in the bag. I must admit I didn’t have tons in my bag though as I had checked luggage.

I had lots in handbag and travelled through Gatwick 4 times in the last 6 months - all under 100ml but too many to fit in a plastic bag. So you’ll be fine!

Since everything stays in the cabin bag now, I don't think it matters too much. They aren't going to be counting the small tubes on the scanner and working out if their total volume exceeds 1 litre. You can probably get away with a 125ml tube that's only two-thirds full as well. When the scanners get the forthcoming upgrade (already in place at a couple of airports) you will be able to take litre bottles through.

I was fine with 100ml bottles in my luggage at Gatwick. They even said I could take my half drunk water bottle through. However, I struggled to shove it all into a small clear airport provided plastic bag on the way home. So don’t make my mistake!

Check the rules for the inbound flight airport, they may well be different.
