Which Greek Island end of May?

We just returned from a wonderful holiday in Skiathos and Skopelos. Would like to return to Skopelos and Alonissos which we couldn’t see; however there are not many flights to Skiathos in May.

Which other island is good to visit in May? We like beaches, food, a bit of sightseeing.

We have been in: Kefalonia, Zakyntos, Corfu, Rhodes, Skiathos and Skopelos as a family. DH and I have been in Naxos and Santorini.

Would be grateful for recommendations. 2 teens and 2 adults. We prefer our own accommodation and rent a car to explore; like our independence and dont like big hotels. Prefer a more authentic island than overly touristy.

Kos is lovely that time of year. You can stay out of the tourist trap towns - I stay in Mastichari (every year!) which has enough visitors to be convenient but is very Greek, with a nice ferry that hops you to Kalymnos (also a lovely place to stay) a few times a day. Lots of sightseeing, and I can provide a list of great tavernas! For May time the other go to place would be Crete, for me, as it is filled with wild flowers that time of year.

How about exploring some of mainland Greece. Based on what you’ve said, I think you’d like Parga, Nafpaktos and Kardamyli.
