Villa holidays

I’m thinking of a villa holiday next summer. Want somewhere close to airport as don’t want to hire a car. Needs to be close to shops/beach/amenities. Any recommendations who to book through ideally a package -flight/villa. Anyone know of a good villa? Three adults and one teenager two/three bedrooms. Europe only don’t mind where.

Watching with interest as I love a villa holiday, but annoyingly they do always seem to be in the middle
of nowhere and require a car to get around

I’d suggest not near the airport but in a resort, just get a taxi to the villa when you arrive.

We've used villa plus several times. Think jet2 does villa holidays too

the Eden resort in albuferia have private villas with pools on their complex which may be worth a look.

Quite a few villa websites such as James Villas have a filter for “car not necessary”

James villas doesn't exist any more

We’ve used villa plus and solmar, both were very good. But remember the pictures are the best the villa has ever, ever looked. Look for reviews in as many places as possible.

Oh 😱 looks their villas have been taken over by Solmar and Novasol. Hopefully they have the same “no car needed” filter…

Villaplus were excellent- you can filter for villas that don’t need a car. They were also very responsive to a couple of requests.

We had a villa holiday this year. Absolutely loved it.
We arranged transfers from the airport- was about 30 miles. Villa was walking distance to shops, restaurants and bars. Had a lovely harbour as well.
We arranged it on Vrbo app - a bit like air b&b.
The villa was in L’Escala, Spain.

We stayed in the Villas Puerto Rubicon in Playa Blanca Lanzarote. You can book direct or via all the normal package operators.

It's a small complex of 2/3 bed houses all with private pool that's in walking distance to beach, marina, restaurants, supermarket and bakery.

I'm not sure you even need a package as there's a regular public bus to the airport and many packages include a hire car that costs but you don't want. But that's up to you, obviously a package gives extra protection, which you could probably also gain by paying by CC, but obviously a no brainer if cheaper than booking separately.

As well as local amenities you can use public transport or organised tours to visit other parts of the island or even get the ferry to Fuerteventura for the day.
