Easyjet or BA with an 8-month-old

Has anyone had good, bad or indifferent experience flying with Easyjet or BA and a small infant? we're off to Italy in May, and Easyjet is about £100 cheaper than BA, but not sure if the little extras like pre-boarding make it worth going BA...

Thanks guys. Have just booked easyjet, but decided to fly from Edi 1 night earlier and stay in the gorgeous new radission at the airport for the night - and maybe we can treat ourselves to some wine in the bar to start our holiday in style! And even with this v expensive hotel, it still works out cheaper than BA...
