Chamonix/Geneva in december

Hi all
travelling to geneva in December for a short break. We’re planning to do 2 nights in one location then 1 night in another. Had planned 2 nights in Geneva 1 night in Chamonix (will work out 2 days ish with flight times), wondering whether to do it the other way around?
we don’t ski. I’m assuming there’s more to do in Geneva, but Chamonix is so snowy and scenic I’m wondering if I’ll regret not spending more time there?
thanks 😊

Depending on when you are going in December, Chamonix might not be as snowy as you are hoping.

Thanks for your reply, we’re going the second week in December. It’s picturesque and mountainous, so it’s not the end of the world if we don’t have a lot of snow 😊
Have you been to both, pink cherry? Is there enough to keep us busy in chamonix without skiing?
also any recommendations for Geneva? Thanks

Chamonix is really all about skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering etc. And the “après”!

Look at Annecy. It’s closer to Geneva, very pretty and has a nice Christmas market. I prefer it to Chamonix for non skiers

Annecy is probably a better bet. Cham is an amazing place and I’ve got a lot of (mad skier mountaineering) friends who live there. But if that’s not your thing it’s an expensive place full of mad mountain people. Last time I was there the weather was so foul (wet cloudy and misty) we didn’t see a thing.

Really? Ah, I’m really disappointed! From the insta/tiktok vids I’ve seen it looks a gorgeous place to wander round for a couple of days-was interested in going up in the cable car too.
will have a look at annecy x

Don’t get me wrong, I’ve been there (in May) when the weather was ok. We went up the Aiguille du Midi and into the glass box. Yes it’s stunning. But December would not be the best month to go.
