Great places to stay in Brittany/Northern France

I am hoping to book a lovely house in Northern France for New Year and start of January. I will be driving and getting ferry so ideally somewhere reasonable easy to access. Would love to be coastal, a cosy place with lots of history and lovely places to eat.
Any hints on lovely spots/areas/places to visit would be appreciated.
Thank you

This isn't an entirely serious suggestion, but if you want something to fantasise about, check this out: https://www.chateaudetocqueville.com/en

Six of us stayed there several times, BEFORE they discovered the rich US market and bumped their prices up. Fabulous building, grounds, 20km from Cherbourg and a lovely peaceful bit of Normandy.

Otherwise, I visited historic St Malo this year and immediately decided I'd come back and spend more time in and around the wonderful coastal scenery and seafood.

Luxury rental in a castle in Normandy

Alexis de Tocqueville opens the doors of his castle to you during your stay in Normandy. Come and discover one of the most beautiful regions of France by staying in one of the five rooms in the tower of the Château de Tocqueville.

Carantec was absolutely beautiful but haven’t visited for a long time.

Dinard is our favourite beach town.
Not coastal, but Dinan is one of our favourite places in northern France. It’s easy to access (especially from St Malo) and very beautiful. It has a castle, historic centre and riverside walks.
