Where would you go?

Hello

I’m wanting to book a break away (UK or potentially abroad) from Saturday 23rd August to Tuesday 26th August. Family of four - unsure whether UK will still be as warm as it is now by then. Just want somewhere the kids can play on the beach for a couple of days. Have found good accommodation abroad but flights are a bomb.

where would you go?

where are you starting from and what's your budget?

It's a Bank holiday weekend and the last week of the Summer holidays so you need to be prepared to pay a premium wherever you go.
If budget isn't a concern, I'd go to the Italian Riviera or Amalfi Coast.

i'd get on jet2, TUI, thomas cook websites, put in your departure date and local airport(s) and see what comes up! I'd stick to Spain / Portugal / majorca / menorca/ south of france type places for a short break otherwise you'll spend half your holiday on a place.

In this country I'd do either Center Parcs or somewhere on the south coast - Lyme Regis, The Witterings, Weymouth depending on age of kids? Abroad, I'd do a city with a beach - Lisbon, Palma or Barcelona maybe? Lots to do if you want, good food, but also the beach for the kids.

We had great weather at the Spanish Atlantic coast at that time. Warm but more breezy.

We flew into Gibraltar and rented a car by walking over the border, that was before Brexit though, not sure if this is still that easy.

The area is more Spanish and German, we stayed in Chiclana, the beach is really nice.

I'd look for a late package or see what flights are available on skyscanner.net from your local airport.

I'm going for a couple of days in Mallorca tomorrow. I booked the flights a couple of weeks ago for £120 return.

Spain, I would get a flight into Girona, hire a car and stay in Begur and visit all the beautiful beachy coves round there.

Or I would drive to Woolacombe if staying in the UK.

Just been on Jet2 loads of holidays available for those dates including flights for 1500 upwards
