BA vs VA vs AA

Looking to book return flights London to New York. Last time I went out with American Airlines and back with BA. Neither were a great experience, just OK. Never flown Virgin.

Any recommendations?

Love virgin, food is so much better than BA or AA

I always fly Virgin / Delta to the USA. Never had any complaints.

Always fly Virgin. I now save up my Tesco points and use a Virgin cc to get more to get us Premium Economy when I fly to the US. Their new planes (the A330-900 neos) aren’t quite as spacious as their older planes but still worth premium for extra leg room and one less seat in each row. BA Premium doesn’t compare. But even if flying economy I use Virgin.

I wouldn't fly AA. I prefer Virgin to BA.

I also prefer Virgin. When flying to NYC check which plane it is when booking as they were still using a mix of older and newer planes when we booked recently. The newer ones are Airbus A330 neo and A350-1000.

VA. No debate

My sister just got back from a LHR-LAX trip with VA and said it was excellent. Head and shoulders better than BA.

VA>BA>AA

Agree with the above VA every time

Lanaa · 13/08/2025 22:03

Adding to the chorus that VA is miles better than the other two. Even their economy is great.

From recent experience, BA are awful transatlantic and AA are not much better (wouldn’t have used them but for a shed load of air miles).

Although did enjoy AA’s disclaimer about not endorsing the Donald Trump movie (which I am happy to recommend).

Would also add that the BA cabin crew were more than great (we had been royally fucked over by BA), my complaint is with management.
