Milan Bergamo car seats conundrum

Hi there,

I’ve got a flight to Milan Bergamo next week, we’d prefer not to hire a car as not a fan of driving abroad and don’t need it while we’re there.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to insert our own isofix car seats into standard airport taxis? Google images suggest they’re modern cars and that all cars post 2014 have isofix, so hoping this won’t be a problem…

Pre-booked private transfers are proving to be very tricky to find in the area for some reason (heading to Moniga).

Thanks so much!

The rules in Milan say a car used as a taxi cannot be older than 10 years: Bergamo is probably the same, so the seat should enter. A quick google search in Italian says as taxis don't always carry car seats it's advised to take your own, so it should be fine.

This site might be useful for transfers https://www.taxileader.net/orio-al-serio-airport-taxi.html

That sounds like it would work fine, but if your seats are heavy you might want to look at something like Maxi Cosi Nomad / Maxi Cosi Tanza / Cosatto On the Go, depending on the age of DC.

There are some really good portable seats coming out now.
