Holiday with teenagers and their friends

Next summer, teens will be 18 and 15. Thinking about doing a holiday that involves each of them bringing a friend. They are both enthusiastic about the idea.

Hesitant to go abroad, due to wanting to book early and the possibility that friendships might change after the holiday is booked. Assuming that would be a problem if flights were involved? Am open to using ferries, possibly. We’re in Yorkshire so would want to use northern ports. Any suggestions?

If staying in the UK, where would you go? Kids like to be active - like walking, paddle boarding etc. Not so bothered about city sightseeing.

I think I'd stay in the UK the first time just to check the holiday model worked, especially if you think they might not be bringing a life long friend. I'd look at the Lake District - not too far so if it goes tits up the teens can go home, but lots of Go Ape, hikes, cycling, climbing etc to be done.

We had a good holiday with teens in North Wales. We climbed Snowden and visited a couple of the Zip World sites to do forest rollercoaster, high ropes, zip line and Bounce Below. Went on steam train and to the beach.
