Hi! Have booked a holiday to Majorca and wanting to hire a car that is based at the airport (no shuttle to collect car/go to desk) that you can recommend with good toddler car seats? Also will need to drop off at an unreasonable hour on the way home so any that are open 24 hours as well please! Thanks

Look on holiday autos. This information will be on there.

I hired one last week from Sixt which was right there at the terminal. They seemed to be the biggest operator there

Avoid Goldcar, they are a scam and try to make you pay more once at the desk: Also rude and obnoxious

Sixt always been good for us from Palma.

use one of the big name providers in the actual terminal. You then return your car to the short stay car park on site. Other providers are offsite and you have to catch a shuttle… not ideal with frustrated kids in tow!

Whatever you do, before you go, please buy excess insurance waiver and make sure it doesn’t exclude your car hire provider. The car hire companies often offer this at very high prices when you get there, but if you buy it from the UK it’s much much cheaper.

it cost us a few quid before we went to Majorca and I am so glad we got it!

Unfortunately our hire car was driven into whilst parked overnight (in a hotel car park!) and the excess was about £700 which we had to pay in Majorca when we returned the car. Thankfully we had the excess waiver policy, so when we got home we claimed the £700 in that and got it all back. Phew!

‘A car hire excess waiver, also known as excess insurance or rental insurance, is a policy that covers the excess fee you would have to pay if the rental car is damaged or stolen’

This question has been asked a few times on the 'Mallorca under the sun' FB page. I'd recommend joining the group 😊
