Me (f63) and my friend of over 20 years (f53) are both now single and over lunch we tentatively talked about holidaying abroad next year. So, I’m turning to the amazing MumsNet community for advice.

What we’d want:

▪️ separate rooms
▪️ a pool available
▪️ no need for a car
▪️ probably half board
▪️ nice beach
▪️ not a ‘party’ atmosphere
▪️ mid to low costs

We were thinking Cyprus, Greek Islands sort of place.

I know we’ll have to compromise somewhere but I would really appreciate your views, a starting point.

Good and bad reviews gratefully received.

TIA 😊

I’ve not been to Greek Islands or Cyprus but Lake Garda could be a good option?

Not beaches but a hotel with a nice pool and then time by the Lake. No need for a car and you can use the ferries to visit all of the little towns. It’s a lovely holiday 😊

Portugal is very good value for money at the moment. Cascais and the area around Lagos are lovely.

I’ve not been to the Greek isles since pre covid. But from memory sidari in corfu, pefkos in rhodes and alykanas in zante were all similar to what you describe.

Also Vilamoura in Portugal or benelmedina in Spain

We were in Carvoeiro in Portugal this summer and that could work for you.
